Implementation of the 13.5% VAT Rate

Implementation of the 13.5% VAT Rate

The 13.5% VAT rate was applied to all products that were previously assigned the 14% VAT rate.
After downloading the parameters, a new business day was opened with the date 1 January 2026, and it was verified that the VAT rate had successfully changed to 13.5%.

Mobile POS systems:
For Mobile POS users, it was especially important that the parameters were downloaded manually, as these systems do not perform automatic end-of-day processing or automatic parameter downloads.

Self-Service Checkouts:
The parameters were downloaded manually at each self-service checkout.

Users of the Invoicing Module:
All invoices had to be issued before the end of the year. Only after the product information had been verified could invoices for transactions in the new year be created.

Within the Mando back office, the previous 14% VAT rate was retained for historical reporting purposes, while a new 13.5% VAT rate was created.

Mando Oy has not made any changes to product selling prices or pricing policies. Customers are responsible for adjusting their own product prices if they wish to do so.

Supported Casio Cash Registers

Casio has discontinued the manufacture and global support of its cash register products. However, Mando Oy continues to provide VAT update instructions for the Casio cash register models that are still supported.
Technical support is also available through our paid support line:
0600-12356
Call charges: €2.23/min (incl. 25.5% VAT) + local network/mobile charges
Support is available on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Finnish time).
Please note: If your cash register model is not listed among the supported models below, support is no longer available, including through our telephone support service. As these models have reached the end of their practical service life, we recommend upgrading to a more modern POS solution.

VAT Rate Update Principle for Casio Cash Registers

For Casio cash registers, the VAT update is performed by modifying the existing 14% VAT rate to 13.5%, rather than creating a new VAT rate.

These changes cannot be made in advance. They must only be carried out after the new VAT rate has officially come into effect.

Before making any changes, all required Z reports (daily, monthly, and annual resets) must be completed. Only after these reports have been generated should the VAT rate be updated.
All modifications are performed at the customer’s own responsibility.
